ALCAS involved a consortium of aerospace companies, led by Airbus, to design, manufacture and test a novel composite wing structure using advanced production techniques. Jody's machine design experience has involved kinematic and structural design of mechanisms, tolerance analysis, chain and spur gears, pneumatics, hydraulics and electric drives. This case study shows features sawmill machinery designed for Stenner.
After examining Anchorpac's range of waste compactors Jody carried out a Design for Manufacture (DfM) study. This lead to a standardized chassis designed for simplified fabrication. Subsequent Finite Element Analysis (FEA) reduced the use of materials leading to further cost reduction.
